Protein Sequence Analysis

Our protein and peptide sequencing service utilizes the latest instrumentation to provide routine sequencing at the very low (1-5) pmol level. Sequencing can be performed on either soluble samples or from samples blotted on to PVDF.

Oligonucleotide Synthesis

The PNACL gives you a choice of ordering oligos from Sigma-Genosys or Operon Technologies. Both are delivered daily to our laboratory and provided for pick up at 2 locations on the Medical School campus. A single shipping address (the PNACL) allows the oligos to be offered at substantial savings compared to ordering them directly. Select the oligo icon on the upper right side of the page to proceed.

Computers & Systems Tutorial

Our DNA Sequencing service uses state of the art instrumentation and software to automatically sequence DNA molecules labeled with fluorescent dyes. Templates that can be sequenced successfully are plasmid DNA constructs (including siRNA constructs), cosmid and genomic DNA, BAC DNA and PCR products.

Our custom DNA sequencing service includes cycle-sequencing PCR using your template DNA and custom primers (we provide standard sequencing primers at no extra charge), excess dye terminator removal and sequence analysis. Alternatively, you may run the cycle-sequencing reactions and submit the clean extension products for sequence analysis.

Sequencing Premix

For your convenience, ABI Prism Dye Terminator BigDye™ Premix version 3.1 and version 1.1 are available from the ABI PCR Access freezer on the 4^th floor of the Biotechnology Building (at PNACL) and also from our remote freezer on the 5^th floor of the McDonnell Pediatric Research Building. The premix is available as 20-reaction aliquots at a cost of $125.00 per aliquot.

Alternatively, you can purchase ABI sequencing premix kits through the PNACL ABI PCR access freezer program. The prices for kits ordered through the freezer program are subject to change depending on the Washington University contract with ABI.
